The Markham Agency is a London based talent agency representing professional actors for work in theatre, musical theatre, film, TV, and commercials.

Reflecting the international nature of the entertainment business and to enhance the global opportunities for their clients, The Markham Agency maintains affiliation with agents and management companies in Los Angeles.

The agency also offers a specialist musical division, and a commercials department.

The Markham Agency is a member of the PMA (Personal Managers’ Association), a membership organisations whose agents for actors, writers and directors work together to maintain quality standards in the profession.

The Markham Agency Team

John Markham

Founder and Company Director John Markham trained at E15 Acting School in London. 

He then received a Granada Television scholarship to complete postgraduate studies in Manchester, before spending more than two decades working as an actor, award winning theatre director, and theatre practitioner.

His acting work included West End plays, international tours, and screen work as a series regular on Channel 4’s popular soap ‘Brookside’.

He then moved into the agency profession by working for two years at an established agency, before setting up Markham Associates, and seven years later founding Markham and Marsden.

The Markham Agency was launched in September 2009.

 Matt Thompson

Matt Thompson worked as a performer in London’s West End, UK Regional Theatre, TV and Feature film for more than two decades.

He then trained in Artist Management in Australia, before returning to the UK to work in TV Production and Casting.

In 2018, Matt Thompson joined The Markham Agency, where he is an Agent.

Sarah-Jane Bourne

Sarah-Jane Bourne worked professionally in musical theatre as a child, 

was a member of The National Youth Music Theatre as a teenager, and made her West End debut at the age of 19.

Her professional training at The Royal Academy was followed by performance work at the West End and around the UK, as well as coaching and delivering workshops at leading institutions.

Today Sarah-Jane Bourne is the Musical Theatre Agent for The Markham Agency.
