Des Hamilton, Casting Director

The business is run from its Glasgow and London offices, both national centres of film production, which also allows easy access to regional casting projects. The team casts performers for projects across film, television, commercials and music videos, using trained actors and raw talent as the brief requires.
Des Hamilton is particularly known for spotting talent in unlikely places. He himself fought his way out of years of drug addiction which first took hold in his early teens. A series of chance events brought him onto film sets as an actor and then into casting. When television projects require authentic casting from overlooked communities in the UK, his lived experience is invaluable. In addition, he cast TV mini-series Gunpowder and TV series Top Boy.
